Megan Alameda

I teach high school Earth Science and an environmental science about brownfields. Though I feel like I have had some great project-based education, effective traditional education, and some incredible outside the box education (undergraduate on a school bus in different regions of north and central america) I still get stuck in the ways we have all been typically taught science. I have been excited about NGSS, however frustrated by wondering if I'm actually facilitating it well. I jumped at this opportunity to collaborate with educators and learn ways to authentically bring science and science processes to students. I am also from a rural, conservative area where change is hard so I'm excited to be able to share this process with my colleagues in a way that garners their excitement and supports their transition.
